Latest Internship

commercialserviceInternational Trade Associate, U.S. Commercial Service.: During the Fall & Spring semesters of my Sophomore year, I interned with the U.S. Commercial Service in their Philadelphia office. The U.S. Commercial  Service is the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International  Trade Administration. U.S. Commercial  Service trade professionals in over 100 U.S. cities and in more than 75 countries help  U.S. companies get started in exporting or increase sales to new global  markets. I assisted a local International Trade Specialist with consulting local small and medium sized businesses about doing businesses in foreign markets. Part of my duties included doing market research on potential markets for our customers, inputing transactions in government databases, working with foreign commerce officials and assisting in preparing for the many trade events that were held throughout the year. This internship gave me valuable hands-on experience with the corporate and government world.

Leadership Positions

logo1Director of Marketing, International Business Association.: After being a very active member my freshman year, I was elected to be the Director of Marketing of the International Business Association. The IBA is a Student Professional Organization within the Fox School that promotes the knowledge of International Business by hosting speakers every week and participates in various fundraising and community service events. It helps its members learn more about doing business internationally by providing tips about doing business in specific countries, and it exposes them to internship and job opportunities through our speakers. As the Director of Marketing, I am in charge of all promotional and advertising aspects of the organization. This includes social media pages like Facebook & Twitter, designing promotional items like t-shirts and water bottles and designing flyers and posters for the organization’s numerous events. Being the Director of Marketing, I also chair the Marketing Commitee, which helps design promotional material for the IBA and advetise as well. Being an officer in the IBA, I have learned just how important working as a team is essential to successfully run an organization.

1141256President, TASOK Student Council.: During my senior year of high school, I presided over the TASOK Student Council (StuCo). StuCo consisted of 2 delegates from grades 6-12 that represented their class, a Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-president and President. Together, we were in charge of organizing all student activities such as fundraising events, spirit days, school parties, barbecues and extra-curricular activities. During my time as president, I reopened a student store that hadn’t been open for over 10 years and it provided snacks and drinks for students during their afterschool practices and activities. This experience helped me gain valuable leadership skills that I still use until this day.
