Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation: A charity organization that raises money to assist families of children with special needs through financial burdens and supportive care. This specific organization is very close to my heart as it was created based on the life of Mary Kate Marlow, who is a family friend. Mary Kate was diagnosed with a very rare disease at a young age and her family did whatever they could to accommodate Mary Kate. Her family created the Mary Kate’s Legacy Foundation to continue the life and spirit of Mary Kate and to provide assistance to families with special needs children to live a burden free life. The charity has been very successful and has provided assistance to several families and children. I have been an active volunteer and participate for the organization for many years. I annually volunteer at the organization golf outing that takes place every May. Along with the golf outing, the organization has a charity 5k event every July which I participate in and do my best to recruit as many people as I can for the event to help raise money for the organization.
