Introduction to SQL
This event provided an introduction to SQL through a PowerPoint presentation by Dr. Vazi Okhandiar. This event occurred from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22nd, through Zoom and was sponsored by NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC). NRCLC, a Microsoft and Certiport partner, specializes in offering online, instructor-led, corporate, or individual training in Microsoft Office, programming languages, databases, data analytics, and project management. Thanks to this event, I learned how to create, access, maintain, perform various functions, and manipulate a database on SQL. The speaker started the presentation by explaining the different data types, relational database basics, and the difference between primary and foreign keys. Dr. Okhandiar also spoke about the Data Query Language, DQL (SQL syntax, queries, and operators). The speaker concluded the presentation with some basic math calculations performed on SQL (utilizing myCompiler to demonstrate). The speaker also provided some resources for those interested in learning more about SQL and allowed time for questions from the audience.
