IT Leadership Intern

I worked as an intern inside the project and portfolio management office of Campbell\’s IT department. My job was to lead projects that made the project management process easier from an IT perspective by creating applications and processes that saved time and made collaboration easier. The first part of my project was adding a feature inside Microsoft project online that allowed project managers to automatically create a team inside of Microsoft Teams. The new team was automatically integrated with the project site so project managers and their teams could work from and collaborate directly inside Microsoft Teams. The second part of my project was offering users the ability to change their task schedules to a planner board instead of a gantt chart. The third part of my project was creating a new Microsoft PowerApp to replace the existing application that was used for approving new project requests. With this component I was able to automate the approval process to save time for project managers and project approvers.During this internship I leveraged javascript that I had learned in MIS 2402, Web Development. I also used my knowledge of HTTP requests that I learned in mis 3406, Cloud Architecture. I learned a lot of new skills, including how to use Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Graph, and Microsoft PowerApps. I learned proper business communication etiquette, something all my classes had helped to prepare me for. Finally I greatly improved upon my presentation skills throughout the internship thanks to great practice and feedback from my managers and IT executives. I had the opportunity to present to the IT leadership team inside of Campbells to showcase my work.
