ERP Sales Intern

Cargas Systems is an employee owned software company of 150 employees located in Lancaster, PA. They sell their own custom energy software as well as resell Microsoft and Sage products. Cargas sells, implements, and supports the software.

During my internship with Cargas, I worked with employees in all stages of the sales process. During the month of May, I shadowed the sales development representative. In June, she went on sabbatical and I took over her role. I followed up with leads and took initial calls with them to learn what they were looking for in a new system. So far, one of those deals closed for a total profit of $54,068!  In July, I shadowed the sales consultants on their calls and assisted with the preparation. In August, I shadowed the account managers. Throughout the summer, I worked on several projects. I helped clean up their CRM system, reached out to thousands of previous leads, and organized their Google Drive.

Throughout my summer, I used many things that I have learned in classes. In MIS2101, we learned about ERP and CRM, which are the titles of Cargas’ two divisions. I learned about both types of systems as well as how to use CRM internally. In MIS2502 we learned about SQL data bases and how to run queries which I often used to run reports from our CRM system.
