Interests and Extra-Curriculars
Growing up, I played every sport a kid could participate in, and stuck with Basketball and Lacrosse until I graduated from high school. I still recreationally play the two sports in addition to racquetball, in college. I really enjoyed the competitive aspect of the games, and I made many of my best friends through the sports that I played. Lacrosse is definitely what I miss most from high school. I played my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years for the Erie Spears. In my Senior year, I was the captain of my team and was recognized as the defensive player of the year, as well as a 2nd team all-star in the Western New York Conference (the Erie Spears were in a buffalo, NY league).
One other major interest of mine is traveling. I know that most people say that, but I have gotten to do a significant amount of traveling in my relatively short life already, and for that I am eternally grateful. Some of my favorite places that I have been to include: Hawaii, Alaska, Spain, Mexico, Italy, The Czech Republic, France, Germany, and Peru. There’s nothing I love more than getting to know the different cultures around the world, Sampling the foods, learning about their pasts, and meeting the people. I’ve gotten to see some of the most beautiful things this planet has to offer, both naturally occurring and man-made, and plan on doing quite a bit more adventuring before I’m settled down with a job and a family. This winter I plan to go to China with my Mom, which will take me one step closer to my goal of seeing all seven of the modern wonders of the world. I also hope to study abroad (for a second time) either in Greece or Spain, during my junior year of college. This last Summer I spent over 2 months living in Europe, most of which was spent in Rome, studying at Temple’s branch campus. If you’d like to see photos from my trip, they can be found on my Facebook page here. (You may have to add me as a friend to view the album)
