Dr. Tessa Cole: The cybercrime link from those behind the door (incarcerated) to those in the free world
Dr. Tess Cole explains the dangers of not protecting your data and how criminals take advantage of uninformed individuals of cyber security. Use uses PowerPoint as a medium for explaining the maybe different ways one can protect themselves from those tying to steal and monetize personal information data. She explained this is not only a personal issue but this could also play a role in professional life, always staying aware of the safety protocols to keep the company that youre working for safe.
Dr. Cole spoke about different types of security measures not just preventative, but also proactive safety measures as well, and explained what type of data would be considered valuable.
This is very interesting to me and is relevant to my major because I would like to go into the field of cyber security and finding ways to safeguard data for the company I will be working for. This is also relevant to the class I am taking now about cloud data. Different services/methods in AWS are mentioned in Dr. Cole’s presentation.
