Experience
I have held a part time job while balancing a sport and school since the age of 15. I first worked retail at HomeGoods where I was a cashier and organized and stocked shelves on the floor. I found I like a more fast paced and hands on job which is when I went into the restaurant industry.
I have worked at Walnut Grill, a restaurant in Pittsburgh, through high school, over summers, and holidays. I started as a hostess, moved up as a food runner and busser, and eventually got a raise and moved on to be an expeditor. Being an expeditor, for those that aren’t familiar with food service, is someone who ensures orders are prepared in a timely manner, check the orders are coming out correctly, and communicate between the servers and chefs. This is a position that was usually held by a manager in my restaurant, but was offered to me and is an experience I am incredibly honored to have received. It is a fast-paced, demanding job that has forced me to be organized and level headed in stressful situations.
I have a strong work ethic and go into every job with integrity and the mindset to get things done quickly and efficiently. I have learned so much in communicating and working with others while holding a leadership position.
