“The financial markets offer an excellent laboratory for the pursuit of truth”
George Soros ~ The Alchemy of Finance
My career aspirations are to gain a position in the field of Quantitative Finance.
In my years of college, I have yet to take a course that I found more fascinating than Statistics. I find that it’s also the subject that is most underutilized in terms of its potential. I’ve spent years devising unconventional approaches to exploring data during my own personal time. When I find the time, I intend to post a blog which demonstrates my talents in statistical analysis by posting my quarterly economic forecasts for future periods. My forecasts have outperformed the average forecasts from the Wall Street Journal Economic Forecasting Survey, The Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s Survey of Economic Forecasting, and the Livingston Survey for the past four quarters in terms of approximating the actuals. The reason I’m starting with Economic Forecasts is because the wide availability of publicly accessible data makes it easier for me to collect and explore.
I appreciate you taking an interest in my Career Aspirations.
