Omnicom Media Group: Enterprise Systems Intern
Omnicom Media Group: Enterprise Systems Intern
Summer 2019: Jersey City, NJ
I was an Enterprise Systems Intern for OMG from June to August 2019. I was part of several teams and projects during my experience. OMG is a media buying subsidiary of the larger holding company, Omnicom Group, Inc.
During my internship, I played a role on three separate IT-related projects. I took part in gathering business and technical requirements, and used JIRA to produce user stories for a talent community project. This related directly to my business analysis class from Spring 2019. It was a great chance to be able to apply my skills from the school year into a real-world technology project.
For a catalog project, I aggregated preliminary data for visualization and prepared slide decks for presentation in conjunction with multiple employees. This project was in the exploratory phase, so it was rewarding to participate in a project that was soon going to senior management for review. It also built on the skills I used in my Analytics Student Worker job when I worked for the Fox School of Business Dean’s Office.
In addition to the above duties, I worked with an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system, resolved support tickets, and consulted with the system expert on several issues.
I am grateful for my experience at Omnicom Media Group. My time over the ten weeks I spent there gave me an opportunity to refine my skills, improve my communication, and understand where I want to take my career.
