Diamond Marching Band
From August 2015 to April 2019, I was a member of the Diamond Marching Band. It has been my biggest interest and my greatest source of joy in my college career. The Diamond Band is an example of exemplary teamwork, incredible dedication, and an excellent opportunity to mentor new students.
The Diamond Band performs a new halftime show for every home Temple University Football game. The band also travels to the team’s bowl games, select away games (e.g. 2017, Notre Dame), and to high school marching band competitions to showcase our performances to potential prospective students.
In addition to my Marching Band membership, I was part of the Temple University Basketball Pep Band, which plays at all Men’s and Women’s home basketball games (in addition to select Big-5 road match-ups). I was selected three times to participate in a select group to travel with the school to American Athletic Conference Tournament games and the NCAA Tournament. I have been to Connecticut and North Carolina with the Women’s basketball team, and Dayton, Ohio for the first four of the 2019 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Founded in 1925, the Diamond Band has celebrated over 92 years of musical excellence, unrivaled school spirit, and incredible showmanship.
Here is a selection called “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk The Moon, which was my first show in Fall 2015. It was the halftime of a historic 27-10 win for the Temple Football team over Penn State – the first win vs. PSU since 1941.
