MIS Projects
Learning by doing is one of the most useful and enduring strategies to master new knowledge. The following projects have helped me experience what it takes to complete a real-world project.
Digital Design & Innovation Studio Project
In my Digital Design & Innovation Studio class the project was to help out a real life company with some of their current business problems. The company for our project was a lumber company called Sommerville Lumber. The class was divided in teams in which everyone on the team assumed the role of a business analyst. My team interviewed three individuals from Sommerville Lumber to elicit the business requirements sought by the company. We also had to create a prototype using JustInMind Prototyper to show our solution for the business problem. At the end of the semester we would present our business case and solution to the owner of Sommerville Lumber. To learn more about our team’s project please view the project scope document attached below:

Leading Global Digital Project
For this project, myself and other classmates were assigned to a team of MIS3504 (Digital Design & Innovation Studio) students and we played the role of project managers for their project. As a team, we assembled and managed a project plan and were responsible for the execution of the team project. For the project plan my team used Microsoft Project to create a schedule, assign tasks, and manage the project’s budget. For a more in-depth look at my specific project please look through my team’s binder.

Information System Integration Project
This is my most recent project. This project gave MIS students more free in choosing what kind of project idea they wanted to pursue. My team worked on a project called Habitat, which is a project one of the team members was already working on, but wanted to expand. Currently, Habitat is a website/app that allows students to find eateries around Temple’s campus and also provides delivery options for customers. The new idea for this project was to expand Habitat to include housing option side of the platform where students and landlords could go to either find an apartment, pay rent, find potential tenants, and allow students to rate landlords.
