Career Objectives
I hope to pair a few of my interests and passions to secure a fulfilling career. This will at least involve the marriage of technology, business, and travel. It seems to meet these requirements, a career involving information technology or systems management in the air travel industry would be ideal; however, outside of this industry a consulting career would fit my objective as well.
As for what I am in doing and planning to do to meet these career objectives, I have already placed some travel experience under my belt, volunteering abroad for two consecutive high school winters in the Dominican Republic first and Mozambique second. During the summer following my first year at university I attended Temple University’s campus in Rome, taking classes for six weeks and traveling independently during and after the program. I was able to visit Prague in the Czech Republic and various locations in France including Paris, Lyon, Saint-Tropez, and Cannes as well as its culturally-tied independent neighbor, Monaco.
I also dedicate a chunk of my personal free time to learning career skills via Lynda.com. I am provided access through Temple University, and this website boasts numerous video lessons and courses on a wide range of technology-related skills from music production to Microsoft Office. I am in the process of learning about Microsoft Access and MySQL/PHP. Additionally, so far in my management information systems classes I have learned how to use SAP and other business applications.
