Over the summer/fall of 2020 I interned at Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, Inc. on the Interpretation and Translation team in Wilmington, Delaware, and I am still currently interning.
My main task as a data analytics intern was to utilize the GovSpends database, and to analyze historical data trends to assess how much money each agency has provided to interpretation and translation services in the past, and which agencies were likely to provide contracts to small businesses that could be performed remotely. Once an appropriate contract that fit the business needs of the company was found, it was my responsibility to assist in the development of a specialized report stating the company’s competencies, and why the contract should be placed in our control.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Back to Basics, and the team I was a part of is truly inspiring. At my time with Back to Basics I have been able to improve upon both my analytical and strategic skills.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many students lost their 2020 summer internships, including myself. Thankfully, AT&T provided a summer learning academy for students to take courses on professional development, 5G, machine learning, project management, and many more aspects of business. The summer learning academy also hosted many live events with a multitude of professionals and experts of certain topics. Some of these live talks were conducted with Mark Cuban, Charlene Lake, Molly Bloom, and my personal favorite, Michelle Gielan.
This opportunity with AT&T was truly one of a kind, and the industry knowledge I was able to gain was priceless.
