Teaching Assistant

I served as a Teaching Assistant for the Financial Management course in the Department of Finance at the Fox School of Business. This role provided me with the opportunity to leverage my strong content knowledge and organizational skills to make a significant impact on student learning and performance.

Throughout the semester, I assisted over 200 students, providing on-site support and facilitating pre-exam Q&A sessions via Zoom. These sessions were designed to address the diverse needs of students, many of whom struggled with complex financial concepts. My approach was to quickly identify the specific challenges students faced and break down these difficult topics into simpler, more digestible components. This method not only enhanced students’ understanding but also boosted their confidence in tackling financial problems.

A key aspect of my role was to ensure that students received timely and effective guidance. I made it a priority to be accessible and responsive, creating an environment where students felt comfortable seeking help. My commitment to being available for questions and providing prompt feedback allowed students to stay on track with their studies and better prepare for exams.

The results of my efforts were reflected in the significant improvement in the class average, which rose from 69 to 83 within a single semester. This increase was a testament to the impact of personalized support and targeted intervention in addressing academic challenges. My experience as a Teaching Assistant reinforced the importance of understanding student needs and adapting teaching strategies to foster a more inclusive and effective learning environment.

Overall, my tenure as a Teaching Assistant for Financial Management was a rewarding experience that underscored the value of dedication, clarity, and responsiveness in teaching. It highlighted the profound influence that a supportive and knowledgeable assistant can have on student outcomes, and it solidified my commitment to helping others succeed academically.
