Information Technology Specialist
- Created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1971, BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 is an educational service agency meeting the needs of Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties. Serving 19 public schools, two career centers and 12 non-public schools, BLaST’s vision is to transform lives and communities through educational services. These services are organized into four major divisions: Student Services, Educational Planning, Technology, and Management Services. In partnership with Educational Staffing Solutions (ESS), BLaST employs approximately 300+ staff with a majority of staff working in the division of Student Services providing early intervention and school-age special education services.
- Working with school districts and IU employees to resolve technical issues and deploy new technology in schools. Will be working in an environment relating to server administration, desktop administration, repair, imaging, and networking. Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012-2016. Will be using a variety of operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, and linux in accordance to what each school district uses in their enterprise space.
- Between my business and MIS coursework, on top of my 2 summer internship at PRG real estate, I have developed and become well rounded in the fundamentals of business technology and support. Using my Enterprise IT Architecture skills I will be able to apply my knowledge to deploying and configuring physical and virutual hardware to support networks within the Intermediate Unit’s scope. I have developed real world IT skills via my Internship at PRG Real Estate by handling daily ticket requests and assisting employees with techical, software, and hardware issues across the enterprise, which have prepared me for a full-time position as an Information Technology Specialist at BLaST IU 17..
