Large enterprise network overhaul

During my time as an intern at PRG Real Estate, a Real Estate Management company, I was involved in the planning, deployment, and testing of upgrading the old legacy firewall security appliances to a new Cisco Meraki Environment. This involved planning out the locations of the new devices in the home office network rack by using Microsoft Visio. Before we could transition all of the sites (Which are located all along the east coast and midwest) I was responsible for doing a network equipment audit which involved contacting each site, obtaining photos of the network equipment, and tracing out and making a network map of each site to assist when we performed the network cutover. I also created documentation on how to plug in and set up the new device for use once it arrived via FedEx to our field offices. After this was complete, we could begin configuring all of the devices (36 in total) for deployment.

Before we cut over the network to the new devices, we had to rack the new equipment and appliances on a Sunday (to prevent downtime during the work week). Once this was finished, we were able to guide most office managers over the phone on how to plug in and get everything hooked up so their offices were cut over.  It took all summer to complete, and after it was finished, overall network speeds increased, we could easily monitor network traffic and VPN Tunnel Statuses, therefore creating a more rigid and reliable enterprise network. Down below is a short presentation showcasing some of the events of this large scale network cut over project.
