IT Intern
- This was my second summer at PRG Real Estate as the IT Intern. I held a variety of responsibilities that allowed me to learn and grow my career in the information technology industry. I was was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the help desk system, which provides technology support to over 200 employees all over the United States. From minor technology issues to large scale network overhauls, I was played a vital role as a team member at PRG Real Estate. The day to day operations included user administration using Active Directory, network performance and security monitoring, Print and File server management, as well as managing VPN Tunnels that go from the Home Office in Philadelphia, to all over the eastern sea board.
- I Led and managed the PRG Asset Tracking Initiative, which was inventorying all IT equipment over $100 across the entire enterprise. This large scale project consisted of an entire audit of all IT assets company-wide, managing the project and responses from managers at all PRG Properties and assigning and inventorying all equipment into a central database. This project will help PRG keep track of all technology assets as the company grows, and provides a baseline for expansion in the event of acquisitions of properties, dispositions of properties, and performing End of Life equipment upgrades when the time comes.
- With already knowing how the company operates and knowing how to use all existing systems, I was able to jump right in and continue right where I left off in my day to day. I was able to apply my project management skills that I learned in MIS 3535 to the Asset Management Initiative project to keep it streamlined and on time. I enhanced my existing skills that I learned last summer, by practicing and performing things I shadowed and was just learning how to do within in the IT space, but to performing my job at a professional level while working remotely due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
