AIS Technical Development Track
In my first semester, Fall 2018, in AIS, I completed the Technical Development Track that they offered because I feel like this was an opportunity to enhance my technical skills in an industry that is always developing. I attended all three meetings which were on Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. I feel that these three topics are what companies are looking towards in the present and the future and it helps to get a head start in learning about those topics. I unfortunately was not able to attend the workshop for Augmented Reality but I attended the workshop for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
In the Artificial Intelligence workshop we were working on developing a basic chat bot that Temple advising would use to reply to inquires. I felt that this was a good introduction to Artifical Intelligence because it is such a high level concept but I learned a lot on how it works on a basic level for chat bots.
In the Cybersecurity workshop we learned how to hack into another system using various tools. We used NullByte and Kali Linux to simulate the hacking on our computers with virtual machines. Cybersecurity is a topic that is also hard to show and I am glad I got to interact with software that people use in the industry to practice with.
