Amtrak
In Summer 2013 I had the opportunity to intern in Amtrak’s Finance Department, working specifically with accounts receivables and billing and collections. The knowledge and insight I gained on not only the subject of finance itself, but also the type of work I could be doing post-graduation, was invaluable. Some of my daily operations during this internship included:
- Corresponding with customers via email and telephone, to assist in the collection of thousands of dollars in account receivables.
- Creating spreadsheets detailing expenses charged to customers for private railcar repairs.
- Managing customer information as well as creating and preparing invoices within the SAP system.
