AIS Mentorship Program
I have participated in the 2018 Fall semester AIS Mentorship Program. As a confusing freshman, I was able to learn a lot from my great mentor, Nina Sjostrom. She was willing to help me with all the knowledge, connections, and resources she had. Through this mentorship program, I was able to freely discuss any questions I had about MIS or AIS, receive help on creating my e-Portfolio, collect helpful advices on the Temple Data Analytics Challenge, and hear many of her experiences as an MIS major student inside and outside of the school. I was able to grow not only academically, but also socially by being introduced to many new people through her.
I was thrilled to come back and participate in 2019 Fall semester AIS Mentorship Program. I was glad that I was paired up with my mentor, Shawn Biju. Shawn has guided me throughout my semester by recommending certain professors for my major classes and advising me to look out for externship or internship opportunities. Shawn was very easy to approach that I felt comfortable discussing about my career goals with him.
Similar to my last fall semester, Shawn stayed as my mentor for 2020 spring semester. This year we spent most of our meeting time searching for internships, getting ready for my new course registration, and discussing important interview tips. I am glad that Shawn was able to provide me with a lot of resources and advices. He tried to help me as much as he can even by making time outside of school. I was able to learn a lot from him.
