BJ’s Wholesale Club
The above picture was taken the day before I left BJ’s Wholesale club to study at Temple University.
From my sophomore to my senior year of high school, I worked at BJ’s Wholesale Club as a cashier. BJ’s offers bulk goods for affordable prices and is located in Quakertown, PA. During my time there, I developed sales and customer service skills. Unfortunately, I had to end my two year working experience with this company in order to venture into a new chapter in my life, Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
The following were some of my duties:
- Assisting 100+ customers on a daily basis with checkout and shopping needs
- Receiving and handling payment in the form of cash, check, credit/debit cards, EBT, etc. in order to perform customer transactions
- Maintaining a clean check out area, as well as helping to clean various places around the store
- Counting cash drawers before and after my shift in order to ensure that every transaction was performed correctly
