Web Design / SEO Intern
Smokin\’ Hot Solutions is a marketing solution and web design company that has a primary focus on the cannabis industry. At Smokin\’ Hot Solutions I was added to the team as a web design and search engine optimization intern. I worked with the team to develop their marketing solution website using HTML, CSS, and WordPress. I was also tasked with helping to build up their e-commerce site, along with adding products and brands to that site. I would have to make pages using CSS and WordPress, but had to do most of the fine tuning through HTML coding. They also made me a part of the team that would work on client websites that were tailored to the client\’s needs and wants. Furthermore, I was also tasked with showing new interns how to use the web page templates for our marketing solutions site, how to add products to the e-commerce site, and helped them with web design issues.
During my time at this internship I\’ve learned how exciting and fast it can be working at a start-up. Smokin\’ Hot was created in 2009, but has made a stronghold in their industry and carries themselves as such. I really enjoyed my time there because the company culture was very welcoming and open, and because of that, it made it super easy for me to get comfortable. Despite the lenient culture I still learned about how important it is to be a business professional, and when in contact with clients I made sure to be as cordial as possible. Overall the experience is one I will surely cherish, and I will keep the things I learned at my internship in my mind as I move on in my career.
