Summer Intern
My overall role as a summer intern for the Department of Education was to assist with their on going project, Certification Landscape Analysis, striving to gather information to review the policies surrounding the certication of New Jersey educators. My division worked on one big project over the summer and I had the opportunity to work as a business analyst to help the project move forward. I created fact sheets and gathered data for them so that they could be presented as deliverables to stakeholders for review. Furthermore, I performed in depth analysis of the company website since they were planning on changing the web design. During the internship, I learned a lot about project management and working as a business analyst. By working in teams, I grew an understanding of how to communicate effectively and maintain a respectful relationship with the other BAs and PMs. I also learned how to effectively produce a deliverable and refine them in order to meet the project manager’s expectations.
