Shengquan Hengyuan Investment Co.Ltd is a hedge fund company focusing on quantitative strategies investment in securities market. It locates in Nanjing (China), a city near Shanghai.
I worked as Analyst Intern in Strategy Research Department. Mostly I collected information and data to analyze. I also wrote and made charts in research reports under guidance, and then present them in front of the department. Lastly, I participated in the discussion of the Strategy Research Group and put forward own opinions.
For example, onetime my tutor asked me to help him using data to test a new strategy model he wrote. This model is supposed to discriminate whether there is a trend in prices of securities. We used software to product numbers by trend or in random, and then input them into the model. We adjusted the model and wrote reports about how it functioned.
I learned a lot from this Internship, especially in applying data analytic skills in real work place. What I learned from Class Data Analytics helps, such as how to use SQL and R studio. I also learned some very simple skills about Python and Matlab during the Internship.
