Major: Management Information Systems
Graduation: May 2019
Thank you for taking the time to look at my eportfolio. I am a junior transfer student in the Fox School of Business, and commute from University City in Philadelphia.
I chose Management Information Systems as a major mainly because I like to be the connection between the IT world and business. Communication is my strong point. Business Analytics is my long term career goal. In the past, I have always tried to think of how to make processes more efficient, then I discovered the BA position. Currently I am in a class, Digital Design, that is working with this role first hand with a startup called Memory Lane. It is thrilling to talk to stakeholders to find what processes they are doing now, and how to design a prototype that streamlines that.
I also find data analytics intriguing. Storing massive amounts of consumer and market data, and then pulling that data in softwares such as SQL and R Studios makes for better business decisions. That process of pulling the clean data and then analyzing it using R is where I excel, because I like to discover trends and find correlations. Analytics, to me, is how you stay ahead of the market while satisfying current customer’s changing needs. That prediction process is what makes data analytics exciting.
