Trader Joe’s – Crew Member

I worked as a crew member at Trader Joe’s, a grocery store chain, for about three years. I collaborated in a team of 10 crew members to assist over 100 customers per shift in a fast-paced setting. I delivered enthusiastic customer service by supplying detailed product information, which increased store sales. I have trained new employees in the “Food Demonstration” area with food safety, preparation, and distribution. I managed a team of 5 crew members in the “Produce” section on stock replenishment and section maintenance for 3 hour periods.

I maintained my job part-time when classes are in session and full-time during breaks from school, which has taught me a great deal about time management. Additionally, while at work I am required to maintain accurate awareness of the time, as we are constantly switching duties. If a crew member runs late to relieve a coworker from a certain duty, that person negatively affects the person they are responsible to relieve, and so on. There is an extremely beneficial team mentality among coworkers. Through my experience here I have learned valuable skills in the customer experience field. This has enhanced my abilities of catering to the customer’s needs and ensuring they have a memorable experience.

Gauze – International Research Intern

I worked as a research intern for GauzeInc. for 6 months. Gauze Inc. is a global database of hospitals and medical services dedicated to serving individuals who need medical services during international travel. I was responsible for researching demographics for 200 hospitals in 3 chosen countries – Israel, Thailand, and Norway. I analyzed and validated existing database demographics for accuracy and completeness, and supplemented additional data not yet existing in the system to enrich the end-user’s experience. I engaged with the company leader in weekly meetings to present findings for approximately 10 hospitals. To wrap up the program, I examined and delivered a 5-slide presentation on a selected country’s healthcare system to fellow interns.
