MIS 3501 – Data Centric Application Development

I learned valuable skills in this course that taught me the basics to website development, some of which included HTML, CSS, and MySQL. It was extremely rewarding to work with code and, through trial and error, build such code into a working website. I have hopes to work in a consulting position post-graduation. In such a position, I will need to understand the capabilities of database management systems and of various coding programs in order to pass that knowledge along to those I am working with. This course has given me hands-on experience in the coding field and insight into the challenges and problem-solving opportunities that come along with it.

MIS 2502 – Data Analytics

In this course, I learned the importance of data visualization and organization. I gained hands-on experience in data analytics through working with MySQL and R and RStudio. I enjoyed learning about the power that data organization has in its effect on the consumer or given audience. After executing MySQL statements, I learned the importance of this skill as it improves the efficiency of information for a company. This aspect of data visualization/organization is an essential value I anticipate I will bring forth in my career once I graduate, efficiency through data management proves to be an enormous time-saver for companies
