Head Technician Specialist

  1. Job function – As head technician specialist, I focused mainly on the aspects of computers revolving around both software and hardware diagnostics. The tasks assigned were focused on repairing client’s electronics ranging from re-installation of OS to analyzing and repairing certain BSOD issues. Other tasks were informing clients of the problem in detail as well as management of eBay purchases and returns.
  2. Examples of projects – Some of the projects that I worked on was reinstalling both MAC OS and Windows on an iMac, implementing policies that saw reduced redundancy in excel spreadsheet, increasing sales revenue through advertising and proper explanation of laptop/desktop models, decreasing lost revenue from electronics not picked up by clients and managing eBay store more efficiently, and organization of store products. 
  3. What you learned and how it relates to your major – Some of the things that I learned in MIS were the basics of computers and how they function, as well as how a business interacts. This internship helped me develop a strong foundation of computers that I can potentially use in the job fields of Systems Analyst and Network Analyst. In addition to this, experience within the company itself in terms of how they run things showed me the different kinds of flaws that are present. By working potential solution to these problems, we increased revenue while decreasing redundancy in returns and serviced items that were not picked up by implementing business rules. This internship helped me learn a great deal about computers as well as the business aspects that it takes to run a company.
