Microsoft SharePoint is a tool that can allows a company to seamlessly interact, engage, and share data with one another. This will allow the 10 PMPs to create 400 more billable hours, ultimately generating a net benefit of $743,500 in three years.
Data sharing technology, such as SharePoint is mainly used for business efficiency optimization(SoftWeb). SharePoint is a document management and system storage platform that can be used as an intranet for a company(SharePoint). Through any devices that can access the internet, employees are able to collaborate with one another through accessing large databases and libraries collected by peers(AIIM). It provides simple and immediate sharing, allowing employees to have less downtime, maximizing efficiency. The company currently has 10 PMPs who only produce 1500 billable hours. Utilizing SharePoint would increase their efficiency allowing 1900 billable hours.
The immediate cost of installing SharePoint is $100,000. The total cost of installing SharePoint is $253,750, which includes maintenance and administrative costs over a three year period. With the increased efficiency, the PMPs would be able to increase their three-year revenue to $997,500. This would leave the company with an overall net benefit of $743,500.
