Flash Research Assignment: WordPress

Using a web development tool called WordPress could save the developers time and save our company money. Using WordPress, less developers would be needed, resulting in a net benefit of $2,451,000 over a three-year period.

WordPress is an open source website creation platform(BlueHost). Its key capability is that it uses existing code to create a website instead of creating new content from scratch(Ithemes). Writing original code takes time and leads to mistakes. WordPress allows users to use PHP code as well as its preexisting plugins. Websites and applications that could take months, or even years, to make would take nearly a quarter of the time. With the new software in place, 25% percent of the workers could do 75% of the work.

The total cost of adoption and integration of WordPress would equate to $174,000 over 3 years. This cost is including the training, software maintenance, and installation. Using the WordPress platform, we would only need 3 employees working on the traditional web technology and 2 employees working on the WordPress applications. The cost reduction of 2,625,000 would ultimately lead to a net benefit of $2,451,000 in just 3 years.
