Career Objectives

 

Current/Short-term: While still in school, I hope to continue studying for and passing my preliminary actuarial exams in order to accelerate my career and give me a good head start on the exam process. I also want to gain experience in the industry through an internship this summer at a top insurance company. By doing this, I believe it will provide me with great insight into the actuarial career, as well as give me a chance to work on the much needed technical and communication skills that are necesary to have success in this field.

Future/Long-term: After graduating, I hope to obtain a job with a premier insurance company where I can eventually rise to a leadership position and make a difference in the industry. Within my first few years on the job, I hope to achieve my Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation. From there, I will choose either the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and pursue my fellowship by passing the rest of the professional exams. Throughout my career, I hope to work my way up the corporate ladder to a position where I can truly benefit the company and society as a whole.
