MIS Pro Points API Project
In MIS 2401, Data-Centric Application Development, the class learned the basics of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and learned to apply these three languages into functional programs. By the end of the class, we learned how to use pre-packaged plugins to access public APIs and utilize their information in our own small applications. For the MIS Pro Points API Project, I utilized the Lichess API, which provides data on every registered Lichess user registered by their username as their real ID, and used the skills I had learned in class to extract and then display all of the data in a easy-to-read format on the MISDEMO servers.
These skills will continue to be useful to me, especially in a MIS-related industry, as even without the specific language skill, I now have a much more concrete understanding of application development and coding organization.
