Experience
During my last year of high school, I worked as a tennis instructor at Northeast Racquet Club in Philadelphia. Tennis is a sport I love and have been playing for many years, but teaching it was a new and exciting experience. It is sometimes hard to adjust to every persons playing and learning styles, but the best part of the job was seeing the people I taught have actual results and their games improve.
During tax season in 2012 and 2013, I volunteered with a program called the Campaign for Working Families. It was a program run by the city of Philadelphia that prepared tax returns for low-income families free of charge. It was a hectic place to work at times because of the large amount of people who came for the service and the limited staff. But it gave me very valuable experience in the tax preparation process and communicating with customers.
