Courses I have taken throughout my career at Temple University include:

MIS 0855: Data Science

Data Science is a course that teaches students the importance of data analysis and visualization. In this course I learned a lot about using Microsoft Excel to clean and transform data, and Tableau to create visualizations that use data to tell stories.

MIS 2102: Information Systems in Organizations

Information Systems is a required course for all students in the Fox School of Business. It is a great course that introduces students to how corporations use information systems for different purposes. One of the information systems we used in MIS 2102 was Salesforce. Salesforce is a SaaS solution used for CRM. This tool is used in over 150,000 companies making it the number 1 CRM system in the world.

Another tool we got to use in this class was Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. This tool can tell you about your websites users location, session duration, pages per session, bounce rate, etc. With this information, you can better understand your users and make improvements to your website.

MIS 2402: Data Centric Application Development

Data Centric Application Development is the class that introduces MIS students to web development. In this class, students learn how to create web applications using HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, and Bootstrap. This class also teaches students how to make calls to APIs to retrieve data using jQuery.

The skills taught in this class are very relevant for anyone pursuing a technology related career. For aspiring developers, this course gives a great understanding of the technologies used by enterprise developers.
