Who’s On Your Network? A Look at Insider Threats
During this webinar Tim Black discussed Insider threats and how to prevent them. He is an internal audit director for cyber security at Vanguard. He has thirteen years of experience certifying, designing, consulting, and auditing for many cybersecurity programs in financial and defense industries. From this webinar I learned about many incidents that involve insider threats and breaches that can result from many things. Some things insider threats result from are an inside knowledge of key systems, access to sensitive data, and awareness of limitations within the environment. Some ways one can protect themself from such threats are by implementing security software appliances, clear documentation daily, enterprise wide assessments, and more. I believe this webinar relates to my coursework because it directly relates to two main things I would like to do in my future career which is cybersecurity and consulting. It also relates to the average person because everyone has private and sensitive data they would like to keep protected. Therefore, this webinar was important because it gave us many ways to prevent such threats from occurring in the future.
