Cybersecurity Foundations
The Cybersecurity Foundations course by Malcolm Shore provided a comprehensive introduction to key cybersecurity concepts, such as the CIA triad (confidentiality, integrity, and availability) and common threats like phishing and malware. As a junior MIS student at Temple University, I gained valuable insights into encryption, firewalls, and basic networking protocols, which enhanced my understanding of how security tools mitigate vulnerabilities. The real-world examples and case studies helped me connect the material to practical applications, making it relevant to my coursework and career interests. This course also prepared me for technical interviews and advanced studies in cybersecurity by providing foundational knowledge and frameworks to discuss security challenges professionally.
