Air Logistics Intern
I had the opportunity to intern at the Philadelphia branch of Kuehne + Nagel this summer. KN is the largest global Freight Forwarding company, with Philly’s Air Freight Logistics team specializing in forwarding life-saving pharma products across the globe. As a data intern, my core responsibilities included developing excel directories acting as databases for operational documentation, as well as assisting the Supply Chain Integrity team in conducting Tableau-driven analytics for shipment temperature data. My project regarding database structuring involved sourcing personal documentation from 100+ individuals, standardizing documentation into one directory, and conducting usability testing to ensure effective and usable design for products’ users. This process decreased billing deferrals by 50% and helped the team set a 98.94% internal audit record. Practices of my User Experience, Data and Analytics, and Turning Numbers into Knowledge were reinforced through practices such as usability testing, database design, and data visualization.
