Audit Intern
During my internship, I was assigned many projects with different concentrations. For example I had to look over a Business Units reconciliations and and trial balance to ensure that they were following Corporate policy, I looked over expense reports to ensure that they were following policy, and I was tasked with looking over the Business Units cycle count process. The latter was most involved with my major as I was looking over ERP systems and making sure that only certified people had access to these systems so that no incorrect changes could be made. The corporate policy allowed for multiple different ERP systems to be used so it was interesting to see the variety and how they can differ from each other. For the most part I hadn’t found any significant discrepancies other than the occasional unauthorized access user. This experience has taught me a lot about ERP systems and how they are designed to make life easier for people when recording cycle counts, transactions, or income. However, there always seemed to be some confusion around the ERP systems and its process with some of the Business Units so there will always be room for improvement.
