How to Be More Strategic in Six Steps
In the LinkedIn Learning podcast interview, “How to Be More Strategic in Six Steps”, with Pete Mockaitis and Stacey Boyle. Stacey talks about how we can be more strategic. She talks about the six steps to be more strategic in the workforce. We first have to know the big picture. By knowing what is going around you, then you can follow the flow understand better what you can do to help. We need to learn what is going on and the best way to do that is to engage with stakeholders through networking not only with people you work with but also with the people you meet during the time you get up to that point. The next step is to build a strategic plan. By creating a plan, we can figure out what we need in order to do what we need to do. We then execute our plan by being flexible. If there is any problems, we need to be ready to change. Lastly, we need to communicate strategically. Meaning that we need to know ourselves and know what we are suppose to say to different kind of people. For example, we would talk differently to our family than our bosses. We should also use headlines, most people do not want to know all the little details, so just by giving them the big idea, or headlines, we are being strategic.
