Commercial Strategy and Innovation Intern

My exposure to the key aspects of business strategy, technology, and problem-solving rapidly grew with my internship at Novo Nordisk Inc. I was given the opportunity to provide a strategy and implementation framework for generative AI usage in the US Commercial Strategy/Marketing Department. By collaborating with a diverse range of 20+ commercial strategy executives, including the company’s CMO, I was able to assess, quantify, and recommend exact use cases for AI strategy and implementation given the specific needs for diabetes, obesity, and rare disease drug marketing. This was done through both primary and secondary research regarding marketer sentiment towards generative AI, current marketing use cases, and current organizational capabilities. For instance, I conducted a marketer survey to gather proprietary internal insights to roadmap the most essential use cases and implementation strategies. In addition, I conducted several meetings with external Generative AI vendors to establish a partnership to develop the suggested use cases, including personalized branding, customer segmentation, and competitor analyses. Through this experience, I gained the ability to evaluate and perform due diligence analyses on the needs of diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. I also gained the necessary insights and skills to navigate the regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry while working with several executive teams to make strategic decisions.
