My Interests
Animal Welfare
Growing up, I held a certain affinity towards animals and loved being surrounded by them. As I matured, I was able to adopt a dog and later on a rabbit. The experiences I went through with them changed my life in an astonishing way. Not only was I able to grow as a individual by raising them, but they also opened my eyes to what I could be doing to help other animals. Thus, I started to donate money or supplies to shelters hoping to make an impact. Then, in the summer of 2015, I decided to branch out and become a volunteer at Paws: Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. While there, I help take care of the animals, walk the dogs, and keep people informed about who’s up for adoption in order to get each one a home as quickly as possible. Overall, I appreciate my time there and hope to keep the organization growing.
Art and Creation
In elementary school, art class was always the best part of my day because it allowed me to exploit my creative side. I cherished the fact that I could interpret an assignment in my own way and create exactly what I wanted on paper. Not wanting to part with this, I chose art classes as my electives in middle and high school. From there, I gained beneficial knowledge in a multitude of areas surrounding the arts. I was able to work with mediums such as clay, charcoal, and acrylic, among other things. Now, instead of attending classes to express my artistic nature, I do it as a hobby whenever I’m feeling creative. To expand my horizons, I also recently started working with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in order to perform more graphic design oriented work.
