Urban Outfitters Inc.
Over the 2015 summer, I spent my time interning for Urban Outfitters in their IT/Reporting department. While I was there I received some training but not a lot, and was tasked with learning, analyzing, and interpreting one of their databases. This was a database designed by a company named TradeStone and that also ran a software used to operate most of Urban Outfitters’ external order placing overseas.
By interpreting and sharing this data I was able to bring value to the business by cutting down on the total time it took for my team to understand this particular database. In doing this, I was able to explain the some of the intricacies of the database to the systems integrator, who later on went to fully bring this database into our main Enterprise Data Warehouse.
