Work Experience

Brandywine Senior Living Homes

Brandywine Senior Living at Dresher Estates and being a licensed soccer referee under FIFA regulations were my first areas of work that I pursued.  Both of these jobs taught me a great deal about interpersonal skills and how to be polite and respectful.  As a waiter at Brandywine Senior Living I had to take order just like a regular waiter, but I also had to be aware of special health considerations while handling food and also remembering special diets that the residents had.  This job taught me how to handle angry residents as well as manage relationships that I developed while working there.  As a soccer referee I had to not only learn the ins and outs of all of the rules and regulations of the game, but I also had to learn how to handle screaming coaches, players, and fans while maintaining the integrity of the game.  This taught me a great deal about handling stressful situations and keeping my focus on the task at hand.

In my most recent employment at Chipotle Mexican Grill where I worked for the past two summers I learned how their process works, from opening the store, to closing their store, and everything in between.  The main focus of Chipotle’s employee culture is empowerment, which is something that I have implemented in my life outside of Chipotle.  Working here, I was able to implement my skills of team work and individual work everyday by closing the store with our team, working in the store, and communicated to both the grill master as well as the other team members on the line.  Closing the store in a timely matter was one of the biggest challenges of working at Chipotle, we would strive everyday to finish closing the store as quickly as we can without allowing anything to slip through the cracks.  Working individually in the store was also a challenge because as employees we had to learn how to stay busy during at all points in the day, which was easy for me because of my strong work ethic.  Working and communicating on the line was also critical to the success of our store, the entire store had to work in cohesion or else the store would fall behind due to changing levels of demand.  Working as the linebacker was my position of choice, which involved communicating with the grill master about when to start cooking certain foods to ensure they are at company standards as far as taste and quality.  We would constantly be working with our hands to change out the various items on the line while maintaining the high standards of cleanliness.
