Temple University’s Instructional Support Center student consultant: For almost three years now I have worked as the student worker in the Instructional Support Center or ISC at Temple and love it here. At the ISC we mainly deal with Blackboard support for instructors but we also support WebEx
, Camtasia Relay, Ensemble, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, etc. As a student consultant I answer any questions that professors have about integrating technology into their classrooms. I also provide one-on-one consultations with professors who need help with any of the software/websites named above. I really enjoy being able to help people at the ISC and am very grateful for the opportunity I have as a student consultant here.
Teaching with Technology Fellow: As a Tech Fellow for Temple university I was assigned 4 professors to work withduring a semester to help integrate technology into their classes. I would meet with each professor for an hour once a week and work on skills such as “Blackboard, WebEx, classroom participation systems, digital media, or other technologies used for teaching and learning.” All of the technology fellows would then meet up and discuss what we worked on with are professors that week as well as discuss and collaborate about problems that we had. Over all it was a great experience and would love the opportunity to be a fellow again.
