Web Application Developer
During the summer of 2024, I spent my time working and developing my IT skills at Atlas Construction. I worked closely with the CEO, Brad Tompkins, on developing client-facing tools to be uploaded to the company’s website. Atlas Construction Primarily replaces roofs that get damaged. I used the skills I learned from the MIS coursework to code a Quote Estimation Calculator for current and potential clients to use when they want to know how much a new roof would cost. This experience helped me understand the challenges behind developing software and pushed me to raise my self-critique. I needed to deliver a professional application on time, and that real-life pressure forced me to reevaluate my work repeatedly. I am grateful for the opportunity Mr. Tompkins and Atlas Construction provided me. I will improve my work with help from the lessons I learn in future coursework and career development opportunities.
