My Interests & Hobbies

Outside of the classroom I have a wide variety of interests. I love the outdoors and am a hiker and mountain biker, and even though I’m in Philadelphia I take every chance I can to get out and do things. Another one of my interests is music. I’m almost always listening to something, whether it’s rock, jazz, rap or even some country; to add to that I’ve played the alto saxophone since I was in grade school. Along with music, I’ve always had a huge interest in drawing and photography. My favorite subjects for these are nature landscapes and architecture. Most of my photos come from hiking or traveling and I hope that I can eventually go to each continent at least once, with one of my ultimate travel goals being to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. My last big interests are politics and history, mostly concerning the United States. I’m always keeping track of what’s going on in Washington and around the country and am involved in a student political group on campus at Temple. I’ve also learned a lot about U.S. political philosophy through books I’ve read, including the writings of Thomas Jefferson and the Federalist Papers and others. All of these interests have come together to make me the person I am today and influence how I think about tomorrow.
