IT Career Fair Post
The IT Career fair is a great way for undergraduate and graduate students to find jobs specifically catered to the IT industry. This is a more focused career fair so you know that all positions available will be related to information technology. This is another way that students can build their networks, hopefully leading to a job opportunity. I was able to meet with employers and understand the qualities and skills they look for in an employee. Career fairs are a great way to work on communicating with employers, even if you don’t meet the qualifications. I learned how to present myself to employers so that I can stand out from other people. I learned to do research beyond what is presented to students because it shows employers that you are truly interested in the company. From attending the career fair, I have learned how to present my skills and tailor my resume in order to the be the candidate employers want on their teams. There is so much to gain from attending career fairs and I have always been glad to be able to attend.
