From Historical Maps to Digital Stories: Georeferencing and Digitizing with AllMaps and Mapwarper
This event covered using historical maps and how they can be used to build a story around the past of an area. This was accomplished using applications such as Atlascope and Fletcherstorymap. With these tools I was able to see how places have evolved over time. I fond it quite interesting the history of a place and by having a view of the past I was able to build a mental picture of what could come. This presentation taught me how to use the tools to analyze and geo reference the images behind these maps. Understanding how the environment has changed over time can be a very useful skill in best adapting the environment for the desired future.
