Supply Chain Foundations
Through this course, I have learned the basics of Supply Chain Management. Topics included the components of a supply chain, issues facing supply chains, goals of a supply chain, inventory management basics, choosing a location for manufacturing, managing quality, logistics management, packaging, storage container standards, transportation of products, the logistics stages, the concept of the Bullwhip effect, push strategies, pull strategies, postponement, Lean supply chain systems, ethics in the supply chain, sustainable supply chains, and humanitarian supply chain management. In learning about these topics, I am better prepared to enter the corporate world since I now understand operations at a deeper level than before and can discuss supply chain more clearly. Since I am trying to gauge my interest in Supply Chain Management and whether or not I should pick it up as a minor, the course helped me see what areas of supply chain I am most interested in.
